A driver was freed from her car after a two-vehicle crash shut down a portion of Lucas Road on Saturday morning in Woodstock, officials report. The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash with entrapment at 9:33 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Route 47 and Lucas Road. First responders arrived to find “two heavily damaged vehicles on Lucas Road, approximately a quarter mile east of Route 47,” public information officer Alex Vucha said in a news release. Police officers found both drivers were conscious, with one trapped inside her car. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries officials believe to be “serious but not life-threatening,” Vucha said in the release. The other driver did require additional medical attention and was not transported to a hospital. Crews temporarily shut down Lucas Road while they worked at the scene, according to the release. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
